Retainer Packages
BLUE SQUARES uses retainer-based service packages to keep the work simple, transparent and focused. Retainers are based on a standard hourly base rate of $165 per hour.
All packages are designed to support a flexible mix of strategy, communications, coaching, training, media and implementation work.




How Hours Work

Retainer packages are based on the standard BLUE SQUARES hourly base rate of $165 per hour.

Hours may be used for approved BLUE SQUARES services, including strategy, communications, coaching, training, media, public-interest storytelling, research, writing, editing, planning, meetings and implementation support.

Unused hours may be rolled into the next retainer package. All retained hours must be used within 90 calendar days from the first hour used.
-
Retainer hours are not intended to remain open indefinitely. This keeps the work active, focused and useful.
Additional Terms

Published rates are based on professional service time only. Expenses and third-party costs may be billed separately where required.
-
Additional costs may include travel, mileage, accommodations, meals, permits, parking, venue fees, shipping, printing, specialized equipment, software licences, advertising spend, stock media, contractors or other approved third-party costs.

Expenses should be approved in writing before they are incurred.
-
Applicable taxes, if any, are not included unless stated otherwise.

The right package depends on the amount of support required, the pace of the work and how many service areas are involved.
Simple guidance

Choose 5 hours for focused help with a defined issue, review or small communications task. This is an entry option, not one of the four main package cards.

Choose 10 hours for practical support to build clarity, content and early momentum.

Choose 20 hours for steady monthly strategy, communications or content support.

Choose 30 hours for active campaigns, website work, training resources or larger communications projects.

Choose 40 hours for deeper ongoing support across strategy, leadership, operations, communications and implementation.
